Student Worker Procurement

    • Eindhoven, Netherlands
  • Business & Operations

Job description

Climate change is real and we need to act fast. Our purpose is to restore the carbon balance in our atmosphere. We believe it’s important to have a positive impact on society, the economy, and the climate. Are you ready to join us on our mission? 🌎

Role
Currently, our Engineering Team is putting in their blood, sweat, and tears to build the next prototypes. While the team is currently heavily working on the design, soon modules, sub-modules and parts (basically the entire Bill of Materials: BOM), soon everything needs to be ordered and logistically distributed to the production location where the actual prototypes will be integrated.

And that’s where you as a Student Worker Procurement come in! As we (will) collaborate with plenty of suppliers & partners – all delivering different modules, sub-modules or components – it’s important that all these purchases are done structurally, accurately and – most important – timely. Overseeing and organizing the timely delivery is super critical.

Responsibilities
The role description above gives you some idea of the context you’ll operate in and the focus you’ll have as a Student Worker Procurement. Below a more concise overview of your responsibilities can be found;

Purchase order management

  • Making sure you swiftly convert purchase requests coming from your internal stakeholders, into purchase orders. Collect (missing) information from stakeholders and negotiate with suppliers the best delivery date.

Supplier coordination

  • The ideal world doesn’t exist. Therefore, you’ll regularly chase suppliers & partners proactively to ensure timely delivery.

  • Resolve order discrepancies, such as incorrect quantities, pricing errors or damaged goods to ensure a smooth procurement process.

Status monitoring and reporting

  • Maintaining a birds-eye overview of the overall-status of all the ongoing purchases, including key milestones, delivery timelines and potential risks.

  • Communicate effectively the overview with stakeholders (e.g. System Architect & Project Manager) about procurement status.

Continuously improve

  • Optimize the purchase process you’re owning by implementing quick wins, sharing suggestions and such (improving 1% every day).

Why join us?

We are a purpose-driven team of international engineers, researchers, and business professionals. We do not get easily discouraged and we join forces to ensure our dream comes true. At the heart of it all, there are people inspired by our purpose: reversing climate change!

We offer you to

  • Make a real difference in one of the biggest challenges of our time - reversing climate change.

  • Become an integral part of our fun, diverse and growing multicultural team.

  • Experience the dynamic and exciting environment of a startup - where there is never a dull moment.

  • Share and implement your own ideas - we believe the best ideas can come from anywhere.

  • Enjoy flexible working hours and the freedom to manage your work effectively - we trust you.

  • Join the daily team walks at the inspiring High Tech Campus.

  • Engage in monthly team events and activities such as jeu de boules or barbecues, fostering a strong sense of community.

  • The opportunity to massively boost your learning curve during your studies.

Job requirements

Our ideal candidate is someone who

  • Is currently following his/her/their bachelor’s or master’s degree. Can be both University of Applied Sciences (HBO) or (Technical) University. We’re mostly interested in the drive and mindset you bring.

  • Is available for 12-16 hours a week (we give you the freedom to schedule these 12-16 hours throughout the week responsibly while offering the opportunity to work from home partly). However, there will be key moments in time it’s required you’ll be in the office more frequently.

  • Is available from February (preferred).

  • Has a strong can-do mentality to make sure the procurement process runs smoothly.

  • Brings a proactive attitude! Yes, proactivity is a buzzword. With that we refer to you doing everything within your ability to make sure parts will be delivered in time. You’re not afraid to pick up the phone to chase suppliers & partners!

  • Brings fluency in the Dutch Language (preferred, not a must have), as it’s highly likely you’ll communicate with Dutch speaking suppliers & partners.

  • A continuous improvement mindset; you naturally improve your way of working on the fly. You hate being inefficient.

  • Is tech savvy.

  • Possesses the right energy to get stuff done.
