Job description

Climate change is real and we need to act fast. Our purpose is to restore the carbon balance in our atmosphere. We believe it’s important to have a positive impact on society, the economy, and the climate. Are you ready to join us on our mission? 🌎

Role
At Carbyon we engineer a one of its kind DAC-system. As this system is highly multidisciplinary, we’re having quite a diverse team engineering this system. Think a System Architect, a Mechanical Architect and Engineers, a Software Architect and Engineers as well as a Mechatronics Engineer. However, we need more electrical power (pun intended!) to support the engineering team. And that’s where you come in. As a Sr. Electrical/Electronics Engineer you bring your expertise by designing, developing and testing our DAC-system electrically.

Essentially, you’ll oversee the engineering of our electrical equipment and systems both in the engineering stage as well as throughout prototyping stage. On top of that, you’ll act as an expert in your field by advising more junior team members and you’ll be the go-to person for any electrical engineering question.

By taking your role, you’ll to successfully design electrical systems and components that meet specified requirements and standards. You’ll ensure that all designs and implementations adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements and company policies.

Responsibilities

While we did our outmost best to give you a colorful context as given above, we’d also like to put your responsibilities in a few bullets. Simply to recap your responsibilities a bit more clearly. As you can see, we’ve divided this into five building blocks. (please know, as we’re a scale-up, this can be pretty fluid!).

Design and Development

  • Create electrical systems and components for various prototyping and product design applications.
  • Develop schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Setting up a way of working for the electrical domain, including the selection of tooling.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct FMEA to identify and mitigate risks.

Project Management

  • Lead and coordinate engineering projects from concept to industrialization.
  • Work package definition and point of contact for any electrical engineering outsourcing activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, control engineers and project managers.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

Testing and Integration

  • Conduct tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of electrical systems and components.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions.

Mentor- and Leadership

  • Act as the expert in your field across the engineering team.
  • Mentor our (junior) team members.
